About the project…

The Contemporary String Ensemble was created to unite the string players that live in New Orleans and respond to a recent trend in which classical music can be played outside of traditional halls. The objectives of the Ensemble are to perform new works by local and international composers, to reach out to the community and offer them music that they might not otherwise be exposed to and to give the musicians more opportunities to perform. Most of all, it’s all about having a good time and meeting more people who love music and insist on playing it.
